Supreme Court of India Orders Samsung Electronics' Chairman To Appear In Court Within 6 Weeks

Supreme Court of India has ordered the Chairman of Samsung Electronics, Lee Kun-Hee to appear before the Ghaziabad  court for a case involving a $1.4M payment. Though recently the Smartphone giant said that Lee has no link to whatsoever the case maybe! 

The Supreme Court of India announced that Lee has been provided six weeks to make his presence in the concerned court of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. After the deadline, arrest warrant will be issued against Lee Kun-Hee and he would be arrested on entering in India. 

The case dates back to the year 2002, when JCE Consultancy, maker of coke calcination packages, used in the aluminium industry. It has reported that the company has dishonored its commitment for a bill of products worth around $1.37 Million to a Dubai firm Sky Impex Ltd.  that purchased the products on behalf of Samsung Gulf Electronics, Dubai, a unit of Samsung, South Korea! 



Third son of Samsung's founder,  Lee Byung-chull, Lee Kun-Hee is South Korea's richest citizen with net worth of $11.4 Billion, as per Forbes magazine. He has taken Samsung to a global level, making it a recognized and trusted electronics and gadgets brand. Lee has a major role behind Samsung's plans and investments in India and parts of Asia.

Lee was in news earlier also in 2013 in a fraud case by Ahmedabad court and in 2008 in Samsung's own funds scandal.
